- The primary objective of Sapientia Publishing House is to promote theological and philosophical literature in ongoing dialogue with contemporary society.
- This primary objective gives rise to several secondary objectives that Sapientia Publishing House seeks to pursue:
a) to support the work of professors and students at the Roman Catholic Theological Institute “Saint Joseph” in Iași, as well as at other theological institutes in Romania, by publishing textbooks and other materials needed for the deepening and development of theological studies;
b) to support the pastoral work of priests and their lay collaborators in our local Church by publishing biblical, liturgical, historical, catechetical, homiletic, and other related books and materials;
c) to support the Christian life of lay faithful by publishing books on spirituality and religious culture that help them fulfill their mission in the Church and in the world;
d) to promote dialogue with contemporary society by publishing religious books and materials that are valuable in content, competitive in graphic quality, and accessible in price.
- These objectives are part of a broader vision that seeks:
a) to exercise the teaching ministry, the munus docendi, entrusted by Jesus Christ to his Church;
b) to strengthen the identity of our local Church in dialogue with the other Christian Churches in the country and with civil society;
c) to promote the cultural and theological values of the local Church and to share the values of the universal Church;
d) to raise the theological and religious level of both the clergy and the lay faithful;
e) to form and promote new generations of priests and lay faithful.
